Please consider volunteering with Cleveland United!
VOLUNTEERS
Cleveland United relies on a dedicated team of volunteers to make our travel soccer club run. Our volunteers are people in the community who devote their time to providing an opportunity for our kids to play soccer at competitive levels right here where they live and across the state. It takes a lot of work, but the reward is apparent on any given weekend when the kids take the field.
If you are interested in volunteering your time, there is plenty to do. Of course, Cleveland United will always welcome team officials (coaches, managers, etc.), but almost anyone can pitch in here and there. GCAA and Cleveland Untied do require background checks (risk management), and some training before being allowed to volunteer in certain roles. Below is a list of roles interested community members can fill if they are part of our soccer club:
Coaches - Experienced coaches are always welcome. Cleveland United will also help less experienced coaches through training to improve their knowledge to lead teams as they grow.
Assistant Coaches - Many head coaches appreciate additional help and assistant coaches can fill that role. This role can handle any number of things like equipment management, running side drills, and tending to minor injuries allowing the coach to stay focused on the game.
Team Manager / Treasurer - Every team should have a manager who handles the schedule, parent communication, tournament coordination and financials.

TEAM VOLUNTEERS

Committee Members - Cleveland United is run by a core committee focused on club administration such as NCYSA compliance, building teams, recruiting and screening volunteer coaches, running tryouts, discipline and appeals (codes of conduct), field management/coordination, communications, and budgeting and financial management. Roles on the committee can consist of general, all-hands-on-deck help but also include NCYSA Registrar, NCYSA Discipline and Appeals liaison, Director of Coaching, Treasurer, Field Coordinator, Scheduler, and Referee Assignor.
Field Helpers - When it comes to the fields, everyone is technically a volunteer. Respecting the fields as a member of the club is important, but we always need people to help with nets, field lining, trash pick up, and occasional minor repairs. This is a great opportunity for young adults to help their community of for parents who plan to be at the field during practice anyway.
Registration Desk - Tryouts are always busy and we often need organized volunteers who can help out at the registration check-in desk. This role consists of checking players in, assigning them a number, directing them to the correct field, and addressing basic parent questions
Boosters (Sponsorships) - Cleveland United is also supported by community businesses who sponsor youth sports and volunteers can help create these partnerships.
